Our beliefs

Statement of Faith

  • The Holy Scriptures

We believe that the Bible, containing all 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, inerrant, Word of God.  The Bible is the final authority for all matters of faith and doctrine. (II Tim. 3:16-17, II Pet. 1:20-21, Ps. 119:89, Matt. 5:18, Matt. 24:35, Isaiah 40:8, Rev. 22:18-19, Ps. 12:6-7)

  • God the Father

We believe in One living God existing eternally in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three persons are the same in essence, equal in power and glory, and have the same divine attributes and perfections. (Duet. 6:4, Matt. 28:19, John 14:10, 26, II Cor. 13:14, I John 5:7, Gen. 1:1, Heb. 6:11, Gen. 1:26, Rom. 15:30, John 1:1, I Tim. 2:5-6, I Tim. 1:17, John 1:18)

  • God the Son

We believe in the Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ, and that He is both fully God and man. He lived a sinless life and died on the cross for our sins. He rose bodily from the grave and ascended into Heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father as our High Priest and Advocate. (John 1:1-3, 14, John 3:13, Titus 2:13, Isaiah 7:14, Matt. 1:18-25, Luke 1:34-35, II Cor. 5:21, I Peter 2:24, John 20:5-9, I Thess. 4:16-17, Matt. 5:18, Luke 24:39, Acts. 1:11, I Cor. 15:3-4, Mark 16:19, Luke 1:35, Isaiah 9:6, Gal. 4:4-5, Phil. 2:5-8, Acts 2:18-36, Rom. 3:24-25, Eph. 1:7, I Peter 1:3-5, Acts 1:9-10, Rom. 8:34, Heb. 9:24, Heb. 7:25, I John 2:1-2)

  • God the Holy Spirit

We believe in the personality of the Holy Spirit, by whom believers are called, regenerated, and baptized into Christ. We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer at salvation and seals them with eternal security. We believe the Holy Spirit fills each believer for service, guides them, and blesses them with spiritual gifts. The Holy Spirit guides all men to Christ and acts as our intercessor. (I Cor. 12:3, John 3:5, I Cor. 12:13, John 14:16, I Cor. 2:9-12, Eph. 1:13-14, 17-18, 4:7-12, 30, Acts 1:8, I Cor. 1:22, 12:4-11, 13:8, 14:21-22, Rom. 8:9, 27, 12:3-8,  II Cor. 3:6)

  • Humanity

We believe that mankind was created in the image and likeness of God. In Adam’s sin, the human race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God. Mankind is totally depraved and unable to remedy his or her lost condition. We believe that the only Scriptural marriage is the joining of one naturally-born man and one naturally-born woman. We believe that Scripture teaches that any extramarital sexual relations, including adultery, fornication, and homosexual relations, are sinful. We affirm God’s good design that one’s gender identity is determined by biological sex, not one’s self-perception. (Gen. 1:26-27, 2:7, 16-17, 22, 24, 3:6, Rom. 3:10, 22-23, 5:12, 6:23, 7:2, I Cor. 7:10, Eph. 2:1-3, 8-9, 4:17-19, 5:22-23, Ps. 51:5, Titus 3:5)

  • Salvation

We believe that salvation is the gift of God, brought to man by grace, and received by personal faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ. His precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins. (Matt. 12:31-32, John 1:12, 3:16, 10:28, Eph. 1:7, 2:8-9, I Peter 1:18-19, I John 1:9, 2:2, Acts 16:31, 20:28, Rom. 6:23, 10:9-13)

  • The Church

We believe in the local New Testament Church. It is made up of saved, baptized believers coming together to worship and serve the Lord. The universal church is the espoused bride of Christ. The church is to observe the two ordinances given to which are the Lord’s Supper and baptism by immersion. We believe in the autonomy of the church free of any external authority or control. (Matt. 28:18-20, 3:16, Acts 2:38-42, 8:36-38, 13:1-4, 14:27, 15:19-31, 20:17, 28-32, Rom. 6:3-5, 16:1, 4, I Cor. 3:9, 16, 5:4-7, 13, 11:20-34, 12:12-14, II Cor. 11:2, Eph. 1:22-23, 4:5, 5:25-27, II Thess. 3:6, 14, I Tim. 3:1-13, II Tim. 3:16-17, Titus 1:5-11, I Peter 5:1-4)

  • End Times

We believe in the “blessed hope,” the personal, premillennial, pre-tribulation, imminent, and bodily return of Christ. We believe those who have rejected Christ will be judged and thrown into the lake of fire forever while those who were saved will be given rewards according to their works. We then will spend eternity with Him. (Ps. 89:3-4, Dan. 2:31-45, 7:25-27, 9:24-27, Zech. 14:4-11, Matt. 24:4-44, I Cor. 3:10-15, II Cor. 5:10, I Thess. 1:10, 4:13-18, 5:1-9, Titus 2:13, I John 3:2, Rev. 3:10, 4:1, 19:11-16, 20:1-6)
